Weekly classes are held on a Monday evening at the Oak Grove Chapel, 70 Catton Grove Road, Norwich NR3 3NT from 7pm to 9.30pm and are led by qualified and experienced RSCDS instructors.

 

There is free parking and you need to bring soft-soled shoes to wear (not trainers) and your own refreshment. Wear comfortable, loose clothing and, since you can get quite warm when dancing, it is advisable to wear thin layers rather than one thick one.

 

The first session, starting at 7pm until 8.15pm, introduces beginners and less experienced dancers to the basic dance movements and formations as well as to simpler dances.

The second session, from 8.20pm to 9.30pm is for more experienced dancers to enjoy social dancing, and to learn and practice a variety of dances, often in preparation for forthcoming dance events in the area. Beginners progress to the second session when the Instructors believe they will cope with more complex dances.

 

Classes are held every Monday, except Bank Holidays, from early September to December (Autumn Term) and then early January to June (Spring/Summer term) and new people can join at any time (though the best times are at the beginning of the two terms - in September and January).
